Boarding:: |
For the safety & protection of all the ferrets in our care, we require that all visiting ferrets be tested for ADV & current on their vaccines, proof to be provided by Veterinarian records. We utilize a foster home network, not a single central shelter site so all the ferrets get one on one daily care & handling. In addition, they are given ample "out of cage" time daily to exercise & play with their human caregiver. Each home has an array of different ferret enrichment toys & playgrounds set up for this purpose, some include a water park for those that wish to get their feet wet.

Fees:: |
ALL proceeds raised go to the upkeep of the ferrets in the shelters guardianship.
Additional donations are accepted & appreciated. For a single ferret we charge $5.00 per day, if you supply the food, and $7.00 per day if we provide it.
For each ferret after the first we charge an additional $2.00 per ferret per day (your food) & $3.50 per ferret per day (our food).
For example, if you have 3 ferrets to board and are providing your own kibble we would charge $9.00 per day. (1 ferret @ $5.00, plus two additional ferrets @ $2.00 each = $4.00 for a total of $9.00).
If, for the same 3 ferrets, we are to provide the food the cost would be $14.00 per day. (1 ferret @ $7.00 plus two additional ferrets @ $3.50 each = $7.00, total of $14.00)
IF YOUR FERRET IS ON VETERINARIAN PRESCRIBED MEDICATION YOU MUST PROVIDE IT IN THE ORIGINAL BOTTLE WITH PROPER DOCUMENTATION. This can not be stressed enough. While we do not charge extra for boarding ferret needing medications, we again do accept & appreciate any donations.

Contract:: |
At the time of check in, we provide a contract for all boarding parents to sign in which we require your Veterinarian's contact information along with a signed "Permission to Treat" form in case any medical needs arise.
The contract also states that any and all expenses incurred by us for your ferret(s) medical care while we are boarding them needs to be reimbursed to us by the responsible party before we will release them.
Please note that the person dropping the fuzzies off also needs to be the person picking them up at the close of the contract period unless otherwise arranged at the signing of the boarding contract AND we have met the pick-up person.

Education:: |
They are slinky, lightening fast, mischievous, and smarter than many people you know. Just like their otter cousins in the wild, the domestic ferrets are the jesters in our living room! They're name is based on the Latin furo roughly meaning "fur thief". And they will steal just about anything that isn’t nailed down, stowing it away in one of their hidey-holes. Most ferret owners will tell you, the thing they are best at stealing is your heart. Sound like a recipe for disaster? The truth is, having a ferret can be a challenge – one you’d better be certain you’re up for, before you commit to bringing a ferret into your home.

For ferret owners:: |
One of the most widely read & respected books in the ferret community is by Kim Schilling called "Ferrets For Dummies". Ms. Schilling published her first edition in October 2000 and it quickly became the "ferret owners bible". A lot of new information has been brought to light over the years since and we are happy to let everyone know that a second edition was released the fall of 2007. This second edition has a center section with a whole bunch of beautiful, full color pictures of ferrets. Please check it out!Another good research site can be found at So, You Wanna Get A Ferret.
